About Us

LungNSPEI is a charitable health organization dedicated to improving quality of life by preventing and managing lung disease through advocacy, patient services, education & research.

For most of us, breathing is so natural that we don’t even think about it. Too often, we take it for granted. For the 1 in 5 Nova Scotians and Islanders who struggle with lung disease, it can be their only thought. They know that when you can’t breathe…nothing else matters.

For over 100 years, our supporters have been helping the LungNSPEI improve lung health in our two provinces.

Support from donors and partners has allowed us to build and implement comprehensive programs for children with asthma and adults struggling with obstructive sleep apnea. Together, we have been supporting patients with COPD, lung cancer, and people awaiting lung transplants. We have taken a leadership role in advocating to government on lung health issues. We’re at the forefront of prevention; providing awareness and programming for key lung health issues like radon, air quality, and smoking cessation.

Unfortunately, we continue to have some of the highest rates of lung health disease across the country. With your help, we’re changing that. Together, we can make prevention and improved lung health a priority today.

Let’s work together to improve the quality of life for all Nova Scotians and Islanders. Let’s breathe better together!
