About Us

Blair is the Island's only Registered Financial Planner providing hourly based fee-only financial planning, staying objective by selling no products and receiving no commissions or referral fees. He is also the Island's only Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist, where his niche is providing couples with objective advice to work through a marriage breakdown as fairly, efficiently and inexpensively as possible. He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant, having obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1978, and holds a number of other designations, including Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter (life insurance and estate planning advice but no sales) and Certified Health Insurance Specialist. He writes many helpful articles for his web site, www.corkumfinancial.ca, to assist individuals with their financial issues, and has hosted many presentations and workshops over the years. He has been profiled and quoted in national publications, and has appeared as a guest on CBC radio and television. He volunteers for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Chamber and the Community Legal Information Association.
