Advancing Island Connections Highlights
International Success Story: Cows in China
Bringing PEI to China
Frank Zhou’s vision of taking “PEI Proud Products” to China recently became reality with the opening of the first COWS Inc. store in Beijing’s trendiest shopping street. Frank will share his thoughts on how we can continue to create partnerships to bring Island products and businesses to international markets, generating increased jobs and revenue for the Island.
International Success Story: Murphy Investments
Newcomer Connections Create Bridges
Kevin Murphy and John LI met over two years ago through the P.E.I. Connectors Program. While Kevin knew that doing business in China could present tremendous opportunities, the prospect can seem daunting. Even if the language barrier is overcome, there is still a lack of necessary contacts and understanding of how business works in a different country. Through this connection, John and Kevin have developed a business relationship beneficial to both parties.
What Makes a Good Deal?
Wayne Carew will share best practices from his experiences negotiating business deals involving Island business owners and newcomers to PEI. Learn from his perspective about “what make a good deal”.
Blake Doyle will outline considerations for selling a business to the newcomer community including how to prepare and present your business. He will also identify what newcomers should look for when considering a business opportunity in PEI.
