Join us for our newest event series as we collectively work towards economic recovery. These sessions will feature important discussions and Q&As with various speakers, including federal, provincial and municipal politicians, economists, economic development professionals, and other subject matter experts. 


In this edition with the His Worship Philip Brown, Mayor of the City of Charlottetown, the Chamber will pose questions in relation the Capital City's economic recovery and growth, what steps the City is taking to aid businesses in their recovery, and what the City has planned for development in the next few years. Our discussion with Mayor Brown will focus on his City's work and what he expects to unfold in the months to come as PEI transitions out of the pandemic.

About the Mayor:
Mayor Philip Brown was born and raised in Charlottetown, one of nine children of Eddy and Babe Brown who operated Eddie Brown's Transport & Crane Service. He graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, followed that with two years in Quebec studying French, and completed his Bachelor of Education in 1987. He taught for 28 years as an elementary school teacher.
 
Mayor Brown has volunteered on many boards and committees through the years, including the Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association, UPEI Board of Governors, and the Charlottetown Legion Executive.
 
He served two terms on Charlottetown City Council from 2001-2006. One of the highlights during his term as Councillor was the development and construction of the Bell Aliant Centre.
 
Philip is married to Lori Devine and they have two children, Emma Louise and Alec. They love calling Charlottetown their hometown.
