Kevin Howlett was appointed Senior Vice President, Regional Markets in September, 2013. In this role, Kevin has overall responsibility for the strategic direction of Air Canada’s regional operations and the relationship with current and future regional carriers operating on its behalf. Based in Vancouver, BC,
Kevin works in association with Derek Vanstone, Air Canada’s Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Industry & Government Affairs to strengthen regional business and community relationships.
Since 2006, Kevin had been Senior Vice President, Employee Relations with oversight for the human resource and labour relations functions at the airline, including strategic support to the business units, organizational alignment and strategy, talent management, recruitment programs, employee and occupational health services, employee development, and total rewards, including pensions and benefits.
He has also held the positions of Vice President, Employee Relations and Vice President, Labour Relations where he was responsible for liaising with all unions representing 85% of Air Canada 's workforce.
Kevin has over 35 years of related experience in the airline industry, and previously held the positions of Vice President, Labour Relations with Air Canada Jazz, and Vice President of Labour Relations & Human Resources at Canadian Airlines International.
Educated at the University of Prince Edward Island and Dalhousie University, Kevin holds the CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) designation, is a member of the Conference Board of Canada, and FETCO (the Council of Industrial Relations Executives and Federally Regulated Employers - Transportation & Communications). In addition, he is a board member of APDC (Airline Personnel Directors’ Council) and a member of ACELD International Advisory Council (Africa Canada 2013 Emerging Leaders Dialogue).
