Canada's 28 million wireless customers have access to some of the fastest and most robust wireless networks on the planet, and they demand high value for the wireless services they are choosing to consume more of each and every day.
Join Bernard Lord, President and CEO of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, as he addresses how the Canadian wireless industry is working to ensure that Canadians can continue to have access to the wireless services they can't live without.
He is also the Chair of the Mobile Giving Foundation Canada. Mr. Lord currently serves as a corporate director and advisor for several organizations.
Since his appointment in 2008, Mr. Lord has fostered continued growth of CWTA’s membership and has launched several new initiatives, including Recycle My Cell, textED.ca, Wireless AMBER Alerts and the Mobile Giving Foundation Canada.
As President & CEO of CWTA, Bernard Lord is a champion for wireless telecommunications development in Canada. He firmly believes that wireless telecommunications generate economic growth and prosperity while improving our personal lives and enhancing our communities.
Mr. Lord earned a bachelor’s degree with a major in economics as well as a bachelor’s degree in common law from l’Université de Moncton. He also received honorary doctorate degrees from the University of New Brunswick, l’Université de Moncton and Saint Thomas University. He is a member of the New Brunswick Law Society.
Bernard Lord has often been recognized as a national leader and consensus builder.
He served two terms as Premier of New Brunswick from 1999 until 2006, and was elected four times as a Member of the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly.
He and wife Diane have two children, Sébastien and Jasmine.
