“International Market Research”
This workshop will focus on the importance of research in establishing new or expanding existing markets. It will discuss how to develop market research plans that are consistent with your business’s capacity, capabilities, and growth objectives. The workshop will highlight potential sources of market information as well as techniques for collecting, interpreting, and understanding the information gathered through your market research.

Ms. Miriam Vializ-Briggs
Sessional Lecturer, UPEI School of Business
Miriam Vializ-Briggs is a Prince Edward Island-based marketing consultant with twenty five+ years of marketing strategy and execution experience, garnered as an executive at IBM, American Express and Kraft General Foods. She has created solutions and marketing plans in a number of industries including banking, biotech, consumer packaged goods, energy, healthcare, industrial, insurance, restaurants, retail, and travel & entertainment.
Miriam currently serves as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Prince Edward Island’s School of Business, teaching International Business to undergraduates and Managing Customer Value in the Executive MBA program. Miriam is a Charter Member of UPEI’s Global Associates Council. In addition, Miriam co-owns “PEI Vacations on the Waterfront,” a successful vacation rental property business based in Charlottetown, PE.
Miriam holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University School of Business and a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University. In recognition of her business leadership, she was named one of the “Elite 20 Hispanic women in business” by Hispanic Business magazine (2006) and selected as Corporate Executive of the Year by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (2004). Miriam was also featured in “Profiles in Diversity Journal” (2008) and in Smart Women Take Risks by Helene Lerner (2006).
