About the Speaker
Arthur D. DeFehr, immigration activist, humanitarian, entrepreneur
Art DeFehr, is CEO of Palliser Furniture, a privately owned business in the residential furniture industry with facilities in Canada, Mexico and Indonesia and with sales in North and Central America.
DeFehr was involved in the creation of the Provincial Nominee Program in Manitoba in 1998, an innovation that significantly affected the immigration pattern and volume to that province.
DeFehr is a past member of the World Economic Forum and currently is a member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives in Canada, the Manitoba Business Council, YPO and is a Director of the Pearson Peacekeeping Center. He has a MBA from Harvard University and honorary degrees from the University of Manitoba and Cape Breton University. He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2004 and awarded the Order of Manitoba in 2011.
